A little about Drizzle - My Special Australian Cattle Dog Partner

Drizzle was born May 23, 1998 making him 5 ½ years young today!  He came to me specially delivered by his wonderful breeder Evelyn Schlisler.  At the tender age of 9 weeks old, we began our human / canine bond and thus the story goes.  Drizzle accompanied me everywhere as well as did his other canine Rottweiler brothers.  We traveled daily for hiking in the woods, fields, and streams when it was hot; we spent glorious hours together. 

After Drizzle and I established a little “get to know you” bond we began obedience training.  His first obedience trick was the GO OUT part of the directed jumping exercise in the Utility class. He got the hang of that really quick, and we continued to learn the simple things like COME, DOWN, and FREESTYLE SPINS and WEAVES.  From that moment on, with the guidance of my Rottweiler STORM, we began to learn and play with FREESTYLE daily! 

Last spring, Drizzle and I demo-ed our first FREESTYLE routine dancing to Trick or Treat by George Winston (a piano solo).  He did awesome and the crowd loved it.  Since then, we began another new routine to our favorite Boot Scootin Boogie sung by Brooks and Dunn.  This is a perfect routine and song for Drizzle and I showing that Cowboys and Cowgirls still love to dance together after a hard day at work. 

And on the obedience front Drizzle has completed his AKC CD scoring anywhere from 195 ½ to 196 ½ consistently placing in every show -  winning 1^st and missing HIT by ½ a point.  Look for him in the Delaney and First and Foremost ratings.  Mom is quite proud.  Drizzle is a wonderful and focused obedience partner, and will be making his Open debut sometime this year.  He is also a registered Canine Therapist.  He has been visiting nursing homes since the tender age of 4 months old accompanied by Storm and Nimbo his Rottweiler brothers. 

Needless to say his “mum” Jill Marie Fernando is VERY proud of her first ACD, and has plans for another “red-head” ACD sometime in the very near future. 

Drizzle is also Jill’s canine assistant in teaching Basic obedience, competition obedience, agility, rally o, and of course FREESTYLE classes at
