Deb Casey is the owner of AustralianCattleDog.com Deb has owned ACDs since the early 1980ís. But, she is not new to the business of breeding or the dog fancy as she began training her first dog when she was a very young child, putting her first obedience title on a dog in 1969. Throughout 38 years she has owned several breeds including a Bouvier des Flanders, Belgian Sheepdog, Schipperke, German Shepherd, Australian Shepherds, Border Collie and Dobermans. Dobermans will always have a special place in her heart. Schutzhund and competition obedience captured Deb's attention for a number of years as she actively titled her dogs often with high scores including a number of High In Trials. She has also worked as a veterinary technician and trained/trialed Rottweilers in obedience for a top breeding kennel in Colorado. Currently, Deb lives in North Texas where she is works on an internet Product as a Support and Training Director.
As an ACD breeder, Deb has bred very few litters - only 10 to date. Of these litters, she has bred 20 Champions of record and some of those hold obedience, herding, and agility titles as well as some working in SAR, therapy and tracking. She owns the first 4th generation of ROM, (Register of Merit) Cattle Dogs in the breed history; Ch. Remarkably, Deb has only a very few dogs at a time and they ALL are house dogs. She stresses the importance of training and socializing puppies so they become pleasant lifetime companions. Deb has a fine family of very happy, caring homes for her puppies. Deb's dogs are featured throughout this site; however, there are several that need special recognition having made a large contribution to Deb and her continued interest in the breed. You may read all about Deb's ACDs on TXK9.com
Deb has recently retired from the Board of Directors of the Australian Cattle Dog Club of America and is past editor of their well-received Quarterly Magazine. Owner and Editor of a new online publication; The ACDSpotlight occupies all of her free time.
AustralianCattleDog.com has gone through many changes since it's first appearance on the internet 12 years ago. Deb guides and provides all of the content, and is responsible for the upkeep of the World Wide Breeder Directory. This site is also the parent site for the listserve/email list cattledog-L which is also sponsored by Deb. The goal is to provide one of the most complete resources for the Australian Cattle Dog fancy on the internet. If you can't find it here - let Deb know email@example.com
Kennel help for ACD.com is Lynn Tatro, Talyn Australian Cattle Dogs, who lives in the Matanuska Valley of Alaska. Deb asked Lynn to work on site design and maintenance in 2002. It has been a long, slow process of learning to code and manage such a large, long-standing site with established bookmarks around the world. Out of this relationship Lazytea Creations found new life as a design business Lazytea Creations specializing in dog related web designs and desktop publishing. Lynn is the webmaster for ACDCA.org, the website for the Australian Cattle Dog Club of America. She also has designed several ACD sites new to the internet. Most of the links for the resources on the site Lynn has compiled were part of Deb's 2001 TXk9.com links project.
When not making updates to one site or another Lynn homeschools her daughter, Maybelle; and enjoys her dogs Chai, Sneaker, and Rita (All SilverDust ACDs!) Lynn is Lazytea Creations which maintains dozens of other websites, blogs, design projects, and a very busy CafePress shop.
As a fairly newcomer to Australian Cattle Dogs, acquiring her first in 1997, Lynn has learned more from AustralianCattleDog.com than any other source. Does anyone else remember browsing this site with a Lynx browser on a battery powered IBM laptop in 1996? To actually be able to see the pictures is a joy.
